Job Title:       Supply Chain Manager


Transpacific Freight Express, Inc. (TFE) is a logistics solutions provider that provides international transportation service (air and ocean freight), customs clearance, inland trucking service, warehouse service, and last mile delivery (contracts with UPS, FedEx, and couriers). TFE’s freight network ships globally, especially to destinations in East Asia. TFE provides customs clearance service in the U.S., China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. TFE provides logistics link to Amazon, allowing overseas exporters to easily ship to Amazon FBA centers in the U.S.


Our company seeks to hire an in-house Supply Chain Manager. The Supply Chain Manager will manage our logistics department operation and personnel on a daily basis. The Supply Chain Manager will plan and coordinate the import and export logistics operation. The Supply Chain Manager will formulate strategies and policies to help maintain a safe, effective and orderly work environment, promote continuous process improvements and maintain positive vendor relationships. The hired individual will be responsible for the following duties:

Coordinate Inbound and Outbound Logistics Activities (40%)

·       Manage inbound shipping operations, selecting qualified carriers, evaluating carrier performance, and delegating tasks to logistics staff such as shipment scheduling, preparation and submission of documents, and coordination of receiving activities;

·       Direct outbound shipments, monitoring steady progress of warehouse picking and packing processes, coordinating timetables with delivery service providers, and determining the most efficient and cost-effective transportation routes;

·       Implement and oversee effective data management processes for all inbound and outbound deliveries, maintaining metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training and safety records;

·       Direct warehouse staff, implementing efficient processes for inventory management, package preparation, delivery scheduling, and work performance safety;

·       Lead weekly meetings to supervise staff and delegate responsibilities to logistics specialists, warehouse workers and delivery service providers;

·       Organize monthly meetings with the management team to analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or mixes, and carriers;

·       Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements;

·       Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, and customer issues;


Oversee Expansion and Improvement of Courier Network (25%)

·       Negotiate agreements with additional local and international partners, agents, and delivery service providers to expand the company’s distribution hub and pick up network in the service area;

·       Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures for freight transportation, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services;

·       Formulate policies, standards and procedures based on operational and market research to better tailor the company’s order fulfillment and delivery services to B2C e-commerce businesses;


Hire and Train Personnel (20%)

·       Recommend personnel decisions, including hiring, firing, promotion, training, and evaluation of subordinate staff;

·       Design and develop onsite tutorial and training sessions for logistics staff, warehouse workers, and delivery service providers;


Other (10%)

·       Keep abreast of the most recent market developments in the e-commerce and logistics industries;

·       Maintain knowledge of advances in logistics strategies, methods, and tools;

·       Recommend new or improved technologies for logistics and supply chain management;


Minimum Requirements:

·       Master’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, manufacturing engineering, or a closely related major;

·       Two years of work experience in supply chain or logistics analysis;

·       Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
